Downtown Murals

  • 521 W. Main Street
    Waynesboro, VA 22980

Playing host to the annual Virginia Street Arts Festival, Waynesboro has invited artists to turn several buildings into works of art. To view the murals, start next to the Wayne Theatre. The large woman's face was painted by Nils Westergard. Behind that building is a smaller-scale mural of the Blue Ridge Mountains by Julia Chon. For a fun bonus, see if you can find the life-sized ducks stenciled around the downtown! Don't forget to stop at Basic City Beer Co., just a mile from downtown, for additional murals and while you're on your way there look over to see the huge mural on the old ice factory, which was named the number one mural in the world by the online magazine StreetArt60.

For a more interactive experience that's fun for the whole family, dowload the app Traipse and embark on a scavanger hunt around town to see all the murals before hitting one of our unique local restaurants or shops in historic downtown.

Visit our Street Art page for a more comprehensive list of murals around town.
