Head out to Constitution Park each Thursday night for Waynesboro Parks and Recreation’s free, weekly concert series, Groovin' at the Greenway. Community spirit will run high as bands perform live music from an eclectic mix of genres including rock, blues, funk, disco, soul, alt-country, and more. Dance along or set up your blanket or lawn chair and get comfy as the sun goes down. There will even be a food truck (or two) at each concert, so you can pick up some tasty food while you enjoy the tunes.

Constitution Park offers plenty of free parking. The music starts at 6 p.m. and lasts until 8 p.m. Concerts will go through July 28.

The concerts are very family-friendly, and the Blue Ridge Children’s Museum will have a tent set up at each of the concerts with great free activities for kids! They’ll also love exploring BRCM’s new natural playground, located next to Stone Soup Books across Race Avenue from Constitution Park and under the gaze of the Kaiya with Tulips mural. The playground features a rock labyrinth, a hill with a built-in slide, planting boxes, and more. This cool play space helps kids connect to the natural world through unstructured play.

If you can’t sit still while the music plays, why not take a stroll along the South River Greenway? You’ll enjoy stretching your legs and feeling the cool breeze near the river. Make sure to show your love with a selfie at our Virginia LOVEworks sign along the trail. Kids will enjoy riding bikes or scooters or wading in the river.

Pick up a giant 28-inch pizza from Benny Stivale’s or some tasty deli sandwiches from Mister Jamison’s (open until 5 pm on Thursdays) to take for a picnic in the park!
