The basics Class meets Thursdays 5:00pm – 7:00pm October 13 through November 17 Recommended Level of Experience This class is most appropriate for those who have some experience with clay, glazing, and firing. It’s fine if you’re still a novice when it comes to throwing or handbuilding, but those who have never glazed a pot before will not get as much out of it. The class will not include instruction in throwing or handbuilding skills. Description Feel confident when you’re making decisions about surface design! You’ll learn various methods and techniques for applying decoration to both bisqueware and greenware. Topics include image transfers, colored slips, glaze and slip inlay, washes, wax and resist methods, and surface decoration. This class will help you learn to get the most out of our glazes. For those who are members of the studio, by taking this class you are able to use some glazes and other materials that are limited to folks who have completed this class. (This is Part One. Part Two is the class where you learn how to mix glazes. Part One is the prerequisite for Part Two.) Instructor Megan is an experienced teacher and long-time member of the studio. What’s the fee include? The class fee includes 6 weeks of instruction, clay, use of studio tools, and firing credit. (Firing credit is not really relevant for this class.
