The basics Occurs during our open house on Saturday October 10, 2026 Special open house rate of $25 per participant Includes an hour of instruction and worktime, plus a completed piece ready for pickup about 2 weeks later. This is a great project for adults or for older kids. About 12 years or older can make their own piece. Younger kids can participate with help of a parent (parent + kid make one shared piece for one registration price.) Description Sign up ahead of time to make a leaf dish during our open house! Have fun with textures, explore design possibilities, and create your own one-of-a-kind dish in the shape of a leaf, just in time for the fall foliage. The session will last about an hour. These dishes are built from clay slabs and can be carved and textured with all kinds of stamps, clay rollers, and other design techniques. This is meant to be a simple project that anyone can do successfully. Bring your creativity and we’ll provide the rest! Participants will choose from several glazes that we’ll finish the piece in for you. Pieces will be ready for pickup about 2 weeks later. The dish is small and decorative, a good size for decor on a side table or for a jewelry dish on a dresser. Where? The studio’s address is 200 W 12th St., Waynesboro VA 22980. The studio is part of a larger complex at The Mill at South River. Students will be provided with specific directions (including code for the gate, which you need after 6pm) before the first class. Cancellation policy for special open house event: For these special open house workshops, we’d appreciate receiving notice of cancellation by 10/8 so that other folks can sign up.
