The basics Monday November 30 and December 7, 2026 (Plan to be there for BOTH dates.) 6-8pm Students in this class must be at least 14 years old. (Those under 16 must be accompanied by parent or guardian.) $60 per participant Description Join Erinn for a two evenings making ornaments! You’ll get a taste of working with clay and will come away with some wonderful handmade ornaments! The first session will consist of rolling clay into slabs, choosing shapes and textures for your ornaments, and getting them cut out. (We have dozens of cookie cutter shape options to choose from.) The second session will be time for decorating with underglazes. These are applied like paint. Included in the cost: clay, glazes, use of our many, many tools. You’ll be able to make about 8-12 ornaments– you’re limited to one-half of a kiln shelf, so the exact number will depend on the size of shapes that you choose. Things to know: They’ll be stoneware ornaments in flat, cookie-cutter style shapes. Only one side will have color. (The back can’t have glaze or it will stick to the kiln shelf.) We’ll plan to have them fired and ready for you to take home at least a week before Christmas. Where? The studio’s address is 200 W 12th St., Waynesboro VA 22980. The studio is part of a larger complex at The Mill at South River. Students will be provided with specific directions (including code for the gate, which you need after 6pm) before the first class.
